In order to ensure that you receive the special contracted rate of $225, please make your reservation by September 28, 2008 and mention that you are attending the NAN Annual Conference.

**Please note: to receive the room rate of $225 for the evening of Monday, October 20 you must be registered for either the Sports Concussion Summit or the Forensic Pre-Conference.  Those not registered for Tuesday programming will pay the prevailing room rate for the night of Monday, October 20.

Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to discuss the hotel arrangements for our conference in New York City from October 22-25, 2008. Some of you have been told that there are no rooms available at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers at negotiated rate of $225. It turns out that New York has proven to be an exceedingly popular venue for the conference and we have had an unprecedented demand for rooms (even before registration has officially opened). We determined the "room block" four years ago using our standard formula that relies on historical data. The popularity of New York is quite obviously not following the data trends of the past. By way of example, NAN has never sold out its room block on Saturday. As of today we have sold out our room block on Tuesday and Saturday, there are still plenty of rooms available at the $225 rate for Weds., Thurs., and Friday. There are also rooms available on Monday evening for those attending the pre-conference events. I can assure you that we are working very closely with the hotel to explore possibilities for expanding our room block on both days and also for negotiating room blocks with other hotels.

We will keep you posted as our negotiations progress over the next few days.

Best regards,
