The NAN Foundation held its 2nd Annual NAN Foundation Benefit on October 21, 2008 in honor of Pat LaFontaine, the National Hockey League, and the National Hockey League Players' Association for their efforts in raising awareness of sports-related brain injuries.  Gary Bettman (NHL Commissioner), Paul Kelly (NHLPA Executive Director) and Pat LaFontaine (NHL Hockey Hall of Fame) all spoke at this event.
	Hosted at the Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center in New York City, the Benefit featured fabulous food and drinks overlooking a breathtaking view of the Empire State Building and the New York City skyline.
