2010 - The Women in Leadership (WIL) Committee hosted a Networking Event at the Vancouver Rowing Club, the oldest private club in Vancouver and nestled in Stanley Park.　 Over 100 guests attended the event, enjoying cocktails and hors d'ouevres and the breathtaking view of Coal Harbour. The event was well attended by students, junior colleagues, more experienced colleagues, and many past presidents of NAN and others actively involved in NAN governance.

Donna Broshek, Chair of WIL, made introductions and announced the first winners of the Edith Kaplan Scholarship Fund:　 JoAnna Argüello, University of Iowa; Andrea Byrne, University of Ottawa; Jessica L. Mackelprang, University of Washington; and Jaquelyn Marcinak, Florida Institute of Technology.

Anne Richardson and Ron Ruff received a Certificate of Appreciation for creating and providing seed money for the Edith Kaplan Scholarship Fund. Rosemarie Scolaro Moser also received a Certificate of Appreciation in absentia for her significant contributions to the WIL Educational Fund.

One of the highlights of the evening was Dr. Roberta Brinton's presentation on leadership. Dr. Brinton gave a warm, encouraging, and often funny presentation about developing leadership skills. At the conclusion of Dr. Brinton's remarks, winners of the raffle were drawn and everyone gathered together for dessert, drinks, coffee, and warm conversation and conviviality.
