A geriatric neuropsychology position focused predominantly on memory disorders is open with geriatric psychiatry group working in different care settings. We are New Hampshire's largest provider of geriatric psychiatry services in multiple locations, including an inpatient geriatric psychiatry unit, General Hospital medical surgical units, outpatient clinic, and over 30 residential care locations which include nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Our providers include geriatric psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, neuropsychologist, psychologist, social workers, psychiatric nurses and others. We had affiliated with New Hampshire's premier healthcare provider, Elliot Health System.
This full time clinical position involves neuropsychology assessments of geriatric and some younger patients with memory difficulties and other geriatric cognitive disorders. Assessment is done within context of treatment team of different clinicians with either a geriatric psychiatrist or a neurologist coordinating care. Education of patients and families is one of the core responsibilities. We follow these individuals longitudinally for the duration of their illness including periodic reassessments and ongoing guidance and education to the patient and caregivers about level of functions and care/supervision needs.
We are located in Greater Manchester Area, close to Boston, the ocean, and New Hampshire's lakes and mountains. This area has been ranked one of the best places to live in the United States numerous times in recent years by different publications/organizations with a stable economy, lower crime rate and excellent education systems. Manchester is the major health care center with all the specialties and services north of Boston and south of the Dartmouth medical center.
