Position Pediatric Neuropsychologist: Miami Children's Hospital
Location Miami, FL
Job Description Come join our team in sunny South Florida and work in tandem with a nationally renowned group of neurologists, neurosurgeons, and other health professionals. Miami Children's Hospital is truly an emerging leader in pediatric neuroscience, recently rocketing to number eight in the U.S. News and World Report rankings. As the largest pediatric specialty provider in Florida, our comprehensive epilepsy center houses one of the largest epilepsy surgery programs in the country with excellence in genetics, neuro-oncology, and other areas.

The MCH Brain Institute is proud to present this exciting opportunity to be part of our vibrant and expanding center for neurologically and medically complex children. We are seeking a dynamic individual for programmatic growth that will soon incorporate cognitive evaluation of traumatic brain injury and congenital heart populations. We are also expanding into functional brain imaging in collaboration with the Department of Radiology. Although we are recruiting for a clinical position, there will also be occasions for programmatically-based research. Furthermore, independent and joint research projects leading to publication are highly encouraged. Recent projects have featured the functional imaging of cognitive networks in brain injured and epileptic children, with new projects presently being formulated.

The Division of Psychology presently employs eight full-time psychologists, one part-time psychologist and one neuropsychologist. All hold medical staff appointments and share collegial relations with our medical associates. This position includes the opportunity to provide supervision and mentorship within our extensive clinical training programs. In addition to our APA accredited internship, we also train predoctoral externs from various local graduate programs. Staff also participate in multidisciplinary conferences, clinics, and work collaboratively across services.

While Miami is famous for its Latin cuisine and South Beach nightlife, there are many other reasons why people choose to work here. The main MCH campus is located in a suburban setting, and boasts a bright, cheerful atmosphere, friendly staff, and culture of camaraderie. The South Florida weather provides year-round outdoor recreational opportunities, including local beaches, kayaking, sailing, biking, fishing, and diving, with the Florida Keys only a short drive away. We are very proud of our world-class professional sports teams, but cannot easily forget our community is also home to numerous festivals and a cultural hub for music, theater, and art.

Early career neuropsychologists and those bilingual in Spanish are encouraged to apply. Experience with school reintegration, and concussive brain injury is preferred. Applicants should be ABCN board eligible and already passed their national licensing exam. Candidates must obtain Florida psychology licensure prior to the start of employment. Salary is competitive and benefits include paid time off, affordable medical, dental, and vision plans, and retirement plan with matching employer funds. There is also potential for academic affiliation through Florida International University.

We will be conducting informal interviews at the NAN conference in Puerto Rico next week. If interested in meeting at the conference, please contact Dr. Brandon Korman at bkorman@mch.com by November 10th.
