The Department of Psychological Sciences at Texas Tech University anticipates hiring a neuroscientist to collaborate with a multidisciplinary, computational neuroimaging group. The successful candidate will employ human neuroimaging as a core methodology but can have a research focus that fits within any subarea of the department including clinical, cognitive, counseling human factors, or social. The appointment will be rank-appropriate to credentials and expertise. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in psychology, neuroscience, or a closely related field. Applicants must have a strong, programmatic research focus and are expected to attract extramural research funding. Applicants should have the ability to teach effectively at undergraduate and graduate levels and be willing to contribute service to the department, college, university, community, and profession. The anticipated start date is August 19th, 2015.
The Department (http://www.depts.ttu.edu/psy/) has doctoral programs in clinical, counseling, cognitive, human factors, and social psychology. We have 31 faculty, approximately 110 doctoral students, and nearly 1,000 undergraduate majors. The appointment will be associated with the Texas Tech Neuroimaging Institute (TTNI), a state-of-the-art neuroimaging faculty housing a 3T Siemens Skyra and a high-density MR-compatible EEG system. TTNI (http://www.ttni.ttu.edu) has a strong collaboration with the MIND Research Network (http://mrn.org/). Department faculty have effective working relationships with the TTU Health Sciences Center, several large area hospitals, numerous clinics and psychological-service agencies. Texas Tech University is classified as a doctoral "research-extensive university" by the Carnegie Foundation and as a "national research university" by the State of Texas.
