Job Summary
A Cognitive Mapping Specialist in the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center, has the ability to perform cognitive mapping services for neurosurgical procedures in which cognitive neural structures are at risk. Such services comprise testing of speech, language, and other such cognitive functions, when administered using auditory, visual, and sensory cues and instructions. The working hours are irregular, according to the needs of the surgeons.

All patient care team members are responsible to meet patient needs, demonstrate willingness to learn new skills, and foster a harmonious work environment in which high quality patient care and customer service is consistently provided. Team members promote a cooperative working relationship with each other, physicians, other disciplines and the public by facilitating and enhancing communication, displaying honesty and respect, displaying sensitivity to cultural differences, and expressing and accepting feedback in a professional manner.

Required Qualifications
" Bachelor's degree, a minimum of six months of experience administering cognitive tests or an equivalent combination of education and experience
" Computer literacy
" Attention to detail, poise and composure in stressful situations
" Ability to troubleshoot common technical problems related to cognitive mapping
" Clear, concise written documentation and interpersonal communication skills
" Knowledge of current techniques/regulatory standards regarding cognitive mapping
" Familiarity with research methodology
" The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations

Preferred Qualifications
" Master's degree or higher
" Neuropsychologist, Psychologist
" Computer fluency
" Experience with research methodology and scientific publications
