MaineGeneral Medical Center's Edmund N Ervin Pediatric Center in Waterville, Maine is seeking a full-time, post-doctoral level neuropsychologist to join our innovative inter-disciplinary team for a fellowship opportunity. The successful candidate will have successfully completed graduate training and a pre-doctoral internship in neuropsychology that has included supervised experience in administering, scoring, interpreting and writing up evaluation reports for neuropsychological tests. The successful candidate also will have completed dissertation requirements by the start of their fellowship. We will be accepting immediately.
EEPC is a committed group of 22 experienced pediatric practitioners, including Child Psychology, Neuropsychology, Clinical Social Work, Child Psychiatry, Developmental Pediatrics, and pediatric rehabilitation professionals.
Referrals to the EEPC include children and adolescents presenting with a wide array of psychological, emotional, behavioral, learning and developmental problems. Neuropsychological problems encountered include head trauma, seizure and genetic disorders, childhood cancers, prematurity, gestational substance exposure, trauma and neglect, and significant neuropsychiatric disorders.
The successful candidate should have very strong clinical diagnostic skills. In addition to completing neuropsychology evaluations, the neuropsychology fellow will have opportunities to participate in neuropsychologically oriented therapies including those using cognitive behavioral techniques and mindfulness to enhance attention, emotion, behavior and relationship regulation. The fellow will have an additional option to develop or participate in a research project which will culminate in a scholarly activity at the end of the fellowship year. Regular individual and group supervision will be provided along with opportunity for a wide array of didactic experiences.
MaineGeneral Medical Center is located in scenic central Maine, just a short drive away from ski resorts, lakes and rivers, award-winning golf courses, abundant hiking trails, and the beautiful Maine coast. We are just an hour north of Portland, Maine's largest city, and three hours from Boston.
