Position Psychologist-Neuropsychologist

Job Description This is a part-time, not to exceed 20 hours per week position at the Madison, WI VA Medical Center, with a work schedule of Monday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Additional hours may be available at the Tomah, WI VA Medical Center, located at 500 E Veterans Street, Tomah, WI, for candidates that prefer full-time employment.

Travel not required if selectee desires only the part-time position at the Madison VA Medical Center. Travel to Tomah VA Medical Center, Tomah, WI, if candidate desires full-time employment includes use of government vehicle if available.

Located in the Psychology Service of the Mental Health Service line at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital (www.madison.va.gov), the Psychologist will be a licensed provider with knowledge and ability to apply advanced professional psychological and neuropsychological theories and techniques to the full range of patient populations.

Duties include:
" Providing a full range of psych diagnostic services including assessment and using the most appropriate psycholtherapeutic techniques in providing quality care
" Providing direct patient contact including neuropsychological assessment, treatment planning, and feedback to patients and/or facility members/caregivers
" Performing evaluations for patients with a variety of neuropsychological, psychological, and neurological disorders including but not limited to dementia, stroke, TBI, epilepsy, movement disorders, learning disability, ADHD, mood disorders, substance use disorders, and personality disorders
" Providing supervision of trainees conducting direct clinical care
" Consulting with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues
" Remaining involved in program evaluation and/or research activities
" Providing administrative duties including, scheduling of veterans and related issues, returning veterans' phone calls, report writing, attending organizational meetings, etc

Requirements:
" Must be proficient in written and spoken English
" Hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia (COPY OF LICENSE REQUIRED)
" Doctoral Degree in Psychology from a graduate program in Psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) in the specialty area of the degree must coincide with the position. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED)
" Citizen of the United States
