Position Rehabilitation Psychologist/Neuropsychologist

Job Description The Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia is seeking two Neurorehabilitation Psychologists for their acute inpatient brain injury rehabilitation units. A private, not-for-profit, 152-bed facility specializing in the medical treatment, research, and rehabilitation for people with spinal cord injury and brain injury, Shepherd Center is accredited by the Joint Commission and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), and ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top 10 best rehabilitation hospitals in the nation.

Primary responsibilities include active participation as member of highly dynamic interdisciplinary teams and providing comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological services (assessment, consultation, intervention, and education) to patients with brain injuries and their loved ones throughout the patients' acute rehabilitation hospitalization. You will consult with physicians, other neurorehabilitation psychologists, counselors, internal and external case managers, and allied health professionals at Shepherd Center to assist in development of treatment goals and long range plans; attend and actively participate in interdisciplinary team case conferences and family conferences; develop behavioral plans using an interdisciplinary team approach; provide behavioral health therapy and/or cognitive rehabilitation using integrated approaches; participate in and contribute to strategic work groups and the overall programmatic plans; participate in training and education of hospital staff; assist in coordinating patient care with programs outside of Shepherd Center; complete reports and all documentation in a timely fashion; supervise and train neuropsychologists and rehabilitation psychologists, behavioral health counselors, graduate students, and/or postdoctoral fellows as needed.

Qualifications:
o Graduate of an APA-approved program in Clinical, or Counseling Psychology AND two-year postdoctoral fellowship/residency in Clinical Neuropsychology or Rehabilitation Psychology.
o Eligible for board certification in Clinical Neuropsychology and/or Rehabilitation Psychology with an expectation to become certified within three years of employment.
o At least two years experience working in a setting dedicated to brain injury rehabilitation.
o Psychologist in the State of Georgia, or licensed psychologist in another state and eligible for licensure in Georgia.
