The Department of Psychiatry - Division of Psychology in the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa is seeking an early career Clinical Neuropsychologist to join our clinical track faculty. The Department of Psychiatry is committed to transforming the understanding, prevention, detection, and treatment of major mental illness through its extensive clinical, research and educational initiatives. We currently have 82 faculty members, including 19 psychologists, 5 of whom are neuropsychologists. Our faculty is dedicated to helping patients and their families reach their potential.
Responsibilities include: Assessing adult outpatients and inpatients with a wide range of cognitive and/or psychiatric disorders through the selection, administration, and interpretation of neuropsychological and psychological tests; Providing findings and recommendations to patients, families, and a multidisciplinary treatment team; Maintaining timely clinical documentation; Providing supervision, training, and occasional lectures to graduate students, medical students, and residents; Collaborating on research projects or other scholarly activities; Administrative duties including program development, participation in departmental and division meetings, and inservice sessions.
Required Qualifications: Doctoral degree from an APA or CPA-accredited clinical or counseling psychology program; Two years of supervised postdoctoral training in neuropsychology; Eligibility for licensure and health service provider in Iowa; Eligibility for board certification in Clinical Neuropsychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP-CN); Demonstrated clinical, research and teaching experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications: Clinical experience with a psychiatric population; Ability to work as a team player in a multidisciplinary and collaborative clinical setting.
