Job Description The Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia is pleased to announce that it is recruiting one full-time Clinical Neuropsychologist. A private, not-for-profit, 152-bed facility specializing in the medical treatment, research, and rehabilitation for people with spinal cord injury and brain injury, Shepherd is accredited by the Joint Commission and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), and ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top 10 best rehabilitation hospitals in the nation.

QUALIFICATIONS
o Requires a PhD or PsyD from an APA-approved program in Clinical Psychology AND two-year postdoctoral fellowship/residency in Clinical Neuropsychology
o Eligible for board certification in Clinical Neuropsychology
o Psychologist in the State of Georgia or eligible for licensure in Georgia

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
o The neuropsychologist will primarily be responsible for maintaining an inpatient assessment/treatment service in our Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) neurorehabilitation program, which includes a Disorder of Consciousness Program for patients who are semi-comatose or minimally conscious. The neuropsychologist will have opportunities to work with patients with a wide variety of neurological conditions (e.g., TBI, CVA, brain tumor, hydrocephalus, anoxic brain injury, encephalopathy). The neuropsychologist will work within an interdisciplinary team providing:
o neuropsychological assessment to patients
o serial neurobehavioral assessments and treatment as deemed appropriate
o support and education to caregivers and family
o attend and actively participate in interdisciplinary team case conferences and family conferences
o provide education and clinical resources to treatment team to facilitate patient care
o participate in and contribute to strategic work groups
o participate in training and education of hospital staff
o The neuropsychologist will also maintain an outpatient practice consisting of neuropsychological evaluations in the Shepherd Center outpatient neuropsychology clinic.
o The department also has an APPCN Fellowship (2 fellows), and the neuropsychologist would be responsible for supervising and mentoring postdoctoral fellows, as well as practicum students from local Universities.
o Research opportunities are available as desired.
