UK HealthCare/University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Department of Neurology, Neuropsychology Division of the Kentucky Neuroscience Institute is recruiting a full time clinical neuropsychologist to fill a new faculty position in the clinical title series. Those with background in clinical neurosciences with eligibility for licensure for Clinical Psychology in the Commonwealth of Kentucky are encouraged to apply.
The University of Kentucky Neurocognitive Diagnostic Service is a comprehensive diagnostic clinic offering services for patients throughout the lifespan. This service is an integral component of the Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation departments at UK HealthCare, along with over two dozen service lines. The University of Kentucky also has the only National Institute of Aging-Alzheimer's Disease Center in the region. Our neuropsychologists serve as Principal Investigators and consultants on NIH and DOD grants, investigating methods of disease prevention and improving the assessment and early detection of cognitive disorders and other neurologic sequelae. The Neurocognitive Diagnostic Service is also a critical component of UK's National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC) Level 4 Epilepsy Center, UK Multidisciplinary Movement Disorders Program, UK Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research Center (SCoBIRC), UK Multidisciplinary Concussion Program, DOD funded Sports Medicine Research Institute (UK SMRI), and the Comprehensive Stroke Center which has the AHA/ASA Gold Plus status. As part of a comprehensive diagnostic service, the UK Neurocognitive Diagnostic Service offers neurocognitive/neuropsychological evaluations for populations with neurodegenerative disorders, movement disorders, toxic exposure, epilepsy, cancer, stroke, multiple sclerosis, head injuries, and other chronic neurologic conditions. Opportunities for academic research in these areas are readily available.
Applicants should have an American or Canadian Psychological Association approved doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology, have completed an American or Canadian Psychological Association approved pre-doctoral internship, and post-doctoral neuropsychology training that adheres to the Houston Conference Guidelines. Early career neuropsychologists and current fellows are encouraged to apply, as there is ample growth potential for an interested academic clinician.
