Position Neuropsychologist and Program Manager
Location Denver, CO
Job Description POSITION SUMMARY: The psychological assessment department within the Mental Health Center of Denver (MHCD) is seeking a full-time adult clinical neuropsychologist to join our growing team. The position will entail clinical work, training of psychology graduate students, supervision of licensed psychologists, and management of day-to-day clinical operations. Primary clinical duties will be neuropsychological evaluations of a full range of young adult to geriatric outpatient psychiatric clients, many with documented or suspected neurological disorders. Experience with more general psychiatric differential diagnosis is also required. Most referrals are made by MHCD psychiatrists and nurse practitioners.

MHCD is a large, well-established, innovative, and vibrant community mental health center that provides outpatient mental health services to individuals recovering from serious and persistent mental illness. In addition to psychiatric illnesses, many of our clients have co-morbid substance abuse problems, significant general medical issues and diagnoses, traumatic brain injuries, and other etiologies of neurocognitive dysfunction. Assessment services are in high demand and the department is well-respected within our organization.

Neuropsychology is highly valued by referring providers and there is an active waitlist for these services. Additional services offered by other department psychologists include evaluation of children and adults for: general intellectual functioning, learning disabilities, adaptive functioning, personality disorder, general emotional and interpersonal functioning, academic achievement, and neurodevelopmental disorders and common childhood disorders

The candidate neuropsychologist will manage and operate the established broader psychological assessment program, and opportunities are ample for development of additional neuropsychological services. Such opportunities could include building an internal cognitive rehabilitation program, developing problem-focused multidisciplinary clinics, and cultivating referrals streams from the broader community. Candidates will also display a desire and eagerness to work in a community mental health center.
