Position Summary:
The Research Scientist assists with formulating experimental hypotheses and designs experimental and other study protocols.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
" Leading and/or assisting the development of research/clinical investigations/studies.
" Investigate the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific methodologies and concepts to potential inventions, products and problems.
" Assist with formulating experimental hypotheses and designs experimental and other study protocols.
" Assist in developing necessary new technologies and protocols, processes and interprets experimental and other study data, coordinates with other technical and professional staff.
" Prepare documents, written reports, manuscripts for submission to scientific journals, and completes other projects as needed.
" Provide collaborative assistance to other Research Scientists.
Education and/or Experience:
" Ph.D., MD or Neuro-Psychologist in related scientific discipline
" A minimum of 2 to 3 years of research experience
" Prior experience within the DoD/VA systems of care and experience working with or in United States Special Operations Command strongly preferred
" U.S. citizenship
Knowledge:
" Knowledge of applicable complex scientific procedures and techniques
" Must adhere to legal, professional and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy
Abilities:
" Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, communication and problem solving skills
" Self-starter requiring minimal supervision
" Able to conduct research and reconcile inaccuracies and make appropriate corrections
Work Environment:
Office and clinical environment with up to 20% travel.
Clearance:
Secret Clearance required. Candidates may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information upon hire.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Provides research guidance to junior research staff.
