Psychologist
Psychology Department
The Psychologist in this position within Children's Hospital, both with general neurology, neurosurgery, genetics, and the epilepsy service, and involves collaborative work within those services to provide neuropsychological assessments to patients (i) with a range of neurological disorders and (ii) patients awaiting epilepsy surgery. The individual reports to the Manager, Psychology.
Rate of Pay: $47.887 per hour - $59.860 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS: Doctoral degree in Psychology Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the College of Psychologists of Ontario with authorization in Clinical Neuropsychology with children and adolescents Recent experience assessing patients with neurological disorders Recent experience assessing patients prior to epilepsy surgery (preferred) Recent experience working in a hospital setting (preferred) Recent experience in supervising a psychometrist Demonstrated advanced knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., Mental Health Act, PHIPA, HCCA) Demonstrated advanced ability to establish effective interpersonal relationships Demonstrated advanced verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated flexibility and a commitment to working within an academic environment Demonstrated excellent time management and organizational skills Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks effectively Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
