Position Neuropsychologist - Epilepsy Focus
Location Cleveland, OH
Job Description Neuropsychologist - Epilepsy Focus
Cleveland, OH

Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute announces a search for a neuropsychologist (adult or lifespan focus) with specialization in the evaluation of patients with epilepsy. This individual will join the staff of the Neuropsychology section at the Cleveland Clinic, becoming the newest member of a high volume service currently consisting of 9 neuropsychologists, 2 postdoctoral residents, practicum students and 10 psychometrists.

This position will be supported by the Cleveland Clinic Epilepsy Center, one of the largest epilepsy surgery centers in the country. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with our multidisciplinary epilepsy team that includes 21 epileptologists and 2 neurosurgeons. The neuropsychologist in this position will have the primary responsibility for clinical assessment of patients with seizure disorders, most of whom are undergoing comprehensive evaluation for epilepsy surgery. The clinical practice model is based on neuropsychologist interview and interpretation, supported by psychometrist-administered testing. Opportunities to evaluate patients through the general neuropsychology service may also be available. Assessment results for surgical candidates are presented by the staff neuropsychologist at a weekly, multidisciplinary patient management conference.

There is a strong educational component to the position. The successful applicant will play a role in the supervision of postdoctoral neuropsychology fellows in our APPCN-member program and epilepsy fellows who complete a neuropsychology rotation as part of their clinical training. Other teaching opportunities include supervision of practicum students and teaching of medical students and residents in many disciplines, including neurology and neurophysiology. The successful applicant will be appointed to the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at a level commensurate with experience. Although the position is primarily clinical, a substantial research component may be considered for interested and qualified applicants.

Applicants must have completed a doctoral degree from an APA- or CPA-accredited psychology program, an internship with experience in neuropsychology and a postdoctoral fellowship with specialization in neuropsychology. Eligibility for licensure in Ohio is essential. Eligibility for or certification by the American Board of Professional Psychology in Clinical Neuropsychology is strongly preferred.
