Houston Conference

NAN, as an official sponsor of the Houston Conference, surveyed the NAN membership regarding the Houston Conference Policy Statement. Subsequently, the NAN President, George Prigatano, wrote a letter to Julia Hannay, one of the Houston Conference steering committee members, expressing respondents' views of the statement. His letter and Dr. Hannay's response are posted here, along with the Houston Conference Policy Statement. In addition, a resolution passed by the NAN Board of Directors on 10/30/01 is posted below.

"Be it resolved that the Executive Board of the National Academy of Neuropsychology, while meeting in open session and having been a sponsor of the Houston Conference, views the requirement for employment that a Neuropsychologist 'be trained in accordance with the principles of the Houston Conference' or similar statements to be premature. The Houston Conference Training Guidelines are properly considered as aspirational and should not be subject to rigid application."
