Located in Victoria, British Columbia close to Vancouver and Seattle, the Department of Psychology at the University of Victoria invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level in Clinical Psychology. Our department's commitment to research-inspired dynamic learning and vital impact create an extraordinary environment for discovery and innovation. The successful candidate's areas of specialty will fall within the field of clinical neuropsychology; the committee is open to different areas of emphasis across the lifespan. The position will contribute to our CPA-accredited Graduate Program in Clinical Psychology and to the UVic Department of Psychology more generally. The position begins on July 1, 2019. Candidates must have a PhD in Psychology from a CPA- or APA-accredited program, must have specialized training in clinical neuropsychology, and must have completed a 12-month CPA- or APA-accredited internship. Applicants must be eligible for registration as a Psychologist in British Columbia. If not presently registered, the successful candidate will be required to apply for registration as soon as possible after they are hired, as registration in BC is a requirement for the position.
We are seeking candidates with the ability to actively contribute to the operation of our Clinical Psychology Graduate Program (http://www.uvic.ca/socialsciences/psychology/graduate/clinical-psychology). Candidates must demonstrate potential for research excellence as evidenced by publications (and/or other means of sharing research findings) and grant funding appropriate to level of experience. Applicants must also present evidence for potential excellence in teaching diverse students at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Candidates must have an interest and ability to teach graduate courses in some of the following areas: psychometrics, child assessment, developmental neuropsychology, methods in neuropsychology, cognitive rehabilitation, cognitive assessment, and/or psychopharmacology. Candidates whose research and clinical activities contribute to our understanding of diverse populations are particularly encouraged to apply. Duties will include maintaining a successful program of research, effective teaching and supervision of diverse students at the graduate and undergraduate levels, clinical supervision, and contributions to the collegiality, reputation, and day-to-day operation of the Graduate Program in Clinical Psychology, Department, and University.
