Job Description Pediatric Clinical Neuropsychologist

West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry in the WVU School of Medicine seeks a Pediatric Neuropsychologist qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will practice in Morgantown, WV.

Clinical responsibilities focus on neuropsychological evaluations of a rich variety of neurological, neurosurgical, medical and psychiatric pediatric populations. This is a clinical position with strong teaching and supervision expectations within our well-known, training-focused APA-accredited clinical neuropsychology internship and our APPCN postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology. Additional teaching opportunities exist with medical students and residents within the department and broader Health Sciences Center on topics relevant to psychology/neuropsychology. Research involvement is possible, and the Center for Advanced Imaging at WVU includes a Siemens 3.0 Tesla magnet.

WVU Medicine Children's is a regional referral center for pediatric subspecialties and provides faculty direct access to highly advanced technology and comprehensive ancillary pediatric services. The new 150 bed Children's Hospital and Women's Pavilion will have a full suite of pediatric operating rooms with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff. The hospital will include 61 NICU beds, 20 PICU beds, a sedation unit and a dedicated cancer center. WVU is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently. Our new Children's Hospital is scheduled for completion in December of 2020.

The West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, led by Dr. Ali Rezai, is expanding to include the clinical, research, and academic missions of Neurosurgery, Neurology, and Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry, among others. The Institute will spearhead efforts to develop innovative solutions for West Virginians and those across the world with neurological and psychiatric conditions ranging from Alzheimer's to Parkinson's; autism to stroke; and paralysis to chronic pain, addictions, and traumatic brain injury.

Applicants must have completed an APA/CPA accredited clinical psychology graduate program, with an APA/CPA accredited internship with a neuropsychology focus, and a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology. Applicants must be eligible to sit for ABPP in clinical neuropsychology. A focus on pediatric clinical neuropsychology is necessary and experience with pre-epilepsy evaluations is desirable. Immediate eligibility for licensure in West Virginia is required. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, a demonstrated track-record of leadership, excellent communication skills, and publications in high-impact journals are required. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
