At this time, the Annual Conference is being offered as an in-person only event. NAN continues to closely monitor CDC and local DC guidelines for in-person events. If the guidelines become restrictive for events, we will look into alternatives to the conference at that time.

Important Health & Safety Protocols


As of July 29, 2021, all persons must wear masks indoors as prescribed by the DC Health guidance regulations.
 

To host an event that is as safe as possible for all in attendance, we highly encourage that all attendees get vaccinated before attending. Regardless of vaccination or testing status, all attendees are required to wear face masks when indoors and to practice social distancing pursuant to current CDC guidelines. In the event of future changes in applicable law or guidance, we may change our requirements.

Call for Student Volunteers

NAN is now accepting Student Volunteer Applications for this year’s conference in Washington, DC. Students will be helping with conference registration, workshop monitoring, CE scanning and various other activities. Click here for more information and to complete the application.

Edith Kaplan Scholarship

All trainee members who have not previously received this scholarship are eligible to apply for the 2021 Women in Leadership (WIL) Edith Kaplan Scholarship. Applications from both women and men are welcomed and encouraged. Scholarship recipients will receive free registration for the WIL Networking Event and $450 to defray travel expenses. LEARN MORE

Postdoctoral Travel Award

Postdoctoral fellows preparing to transition from postdoctoral residency into early career professionals are eligible to apply for this $500 scholarship award to use towards travel/attendance at the 2021 NAN Conference in Washington, DC. Applicants at all stages of fellowship are eligible if they are a postdoctoral fellow at the time of the conference. 

Applicants must be current dues-paying NAN postdoctoral members and completing their fellowship in clinical neuropsychology. Additionally, applicants need to demonstrate commitment to the field of neuropsychology through their clinical experiences, publications, and/or conference presentations. 

Applicants will need to submit the following:
1. A copy of your CV
2. A one-page (or less) letter of intent describing: 

  • your career trajectory and relevant background in neuropsychology (i.e., professional training including clinical and academic experiences)
  • how being a member of NAN has benefitted your career
  • how attending the NAN conference will enhance your professional growth

Our committee will be awarding 10 Postdoctoral Conference Travel Awards to postdoctoral fellows with the strongest applications that meet these qualifications. If interested in applying, please send your application materials to nanstudentcommittee@nanonline.org by August 30, 2021. All documents received will be reviewed by the NAN Student and Postdoctoral Resident Committee.

Tony Wong Diversity Awards

Brought to you by the NAN Culture & Diversity, the Tony Wong Diversity Award will be granted in recognition of the applicant’s efforts to promote public education, advocacy, and research in brain health in culturally diverse and minority communities. Please nominate a mentor, peer, trainee or yourself for awards at any of these career stages: Graduate Students and Post-Doctoral Residents, Early-career members of NAN (within five years of graduating), and Nominations are also being accepted for the Tony Wong Diversity Award to recognize outstanding mentorship in relationship to diversity. Hotel Reservation Procedures and Deadlines

Our host for this year’s conference is the Washington Hilton, located on upper Connecticut Avenue, within walking distance of restaurants, shopping and DC’s Metro subway system. Just blocks from Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan. The White House and National Mall are less than two miles away. 

Once you have registered for the annual conference, you will be provided with the necessary code to book your hotel reservation either online or by phone at the conference rate of $299 plus applicable taxes and fees. The deadline to make a reservation is October 18, 2021 at 5:00pm ET.

Booking a room in the room block at the Washington Hilton is an important way to support NAN and ultimately keep overall meeting costs and registration prices as low as possible. Staying “within the block” is also more convenient and helps you stay connected with the informal activities and networking opportunities that occur at the headquarters hotel during the conference.
