Message from the Chairman

Dear NAN Colleagues and Friends,

NAN members have a great opportunity to DO WELL by DOING GOOD! As the President of the NAN Foundation, I am asking all of our NAN members to join me in supporting our mission to improve quality of life through public education, advocacy, research and collaboration on brain health. Our vision is to become the leading provider of education and resources for the public, patients, families and health care providers to address brain health.  We build partnerships with organizations to support patient-focused initiatives, neuroscience research, and to develop public educational tools.

The NAN Foundation is early in its development, and has already achieved an excellent beginning with the following projects:

• NFL/NHL/NCAA Concussion Assessment and Management DVD Public Education
• BE COOL Children’s Brain Health Education

In order to continue these projects to educate and promote public awareness regarding brain health and to support other new outwardly focused neuropsychological initiatives, we need your financial support. If you are asking what is in this for you, please consider that the National Academy of Neuropsychology and its Foundation represent you and your professional interests and future. You will be recognized and credited for these public education initiatives and you will have the satisfaction of knowing that through your Foundation, you and your profession have contributed to the well-being of the public. Most of us became psychologists to help others, and a donation to the NAN Foundation will directly support the public good through education, research, and collaboration.

Please consider a generous tax-deductible donation to your NAN Foundation with your NAN Membership Renewal or contact the NAN Office to donate. All donors will be graciously recognized by donation level in future NAN publications.

Thank you,

Jeffrey T. Barth, Ph.D.
Chairman, NAN Foundation
